Continuous Quality Improvement Program (CQIP)

 Program Overview

Utilizing the guidelines of DOE Order O 414.1 Quality Assurance, the SGP CART site has successfully implemented a CQI Program for site operation activities. The CQI Program consists of a cycle of planning, implementation, proficiency audits, and analysis. The quality of operation proficiency assessment, is based upon annual on-site audits and inspections of instruments and facilities for compliance with established procedures and program scientific expectations. These audits are typically performed by representative members of the following organizations:

• SGP ACRF On-site Functional Managers (Aeromet, Inc.)
• SGP ACRF Site Safety Officer (Aeromet, Inc.)
• SGP ACRF Site Scientist Team (University of Oklahoma)
• SGP ACRF Site Program Manager (Argonne National Laboratory)
• Argonne National Laboratory ER Division ES&H Coordinator

Data collected during these audits are analyzed, and any identified improvements to the work process are inserted into the on-site planning activity for implementation. These audits and checks provide continuous feedback to the quality cycle by assessing the effects of improvements. This assessment provides the mechanism for evolution and improvement in instrument performance.
